sorters.

WRK Systems offers several different capture devices to help your Bank achieve compliance with the Check Truncation Act (Check21).

Panini

With its innovative design and superior quality, the Panini S1 Vision has all of the features required to get the job done. The standard features of the S1 Vision include: MICR reading, 4 line ink-jet endorsement, 4 pockets, and front and rear image capture.  Encoding models are also available.

Track speed on the S1 Vision depends on the features that you have enabled. If you do not have encoding enabled, the transport reads, captures, endorses, and sorts at a track speed of 80, 120, and 170 documents per minute depending on the model.

The S1 Vision is equipped with the new MICR reading assembly and has been proven as one of the best in the industry, with less than .005 percent misreads. The MICR reading head has undergone years of testing and in the process has read many types of codelines. So, when you pass an item through the S1 Vision, the last thing you have to worry about is a misread.

The S1 Vision is also equipped with a front and rear image camera. Each camera has the ability to capture the check in either bitonal (CCIT) or greyscale (JPEG), depending on your requirements. Resolution is also adjustable. If you need to capture the best image possible, right down to the dotted "i" you can do it with 200 dpi resolution. If you are simply interested in being able to read the majority of the check and want to keep file size down, select the 100 dpi resolution.

The ink-jet endorsement on the S1 Vision is capable of printing all of the necessary information required by federal regulation, thanks to its ability to print 4 lines of information.

Four pockets are standard on the S1 Vision. All the pockets are motorized to ensure a jam-free operation. The last thing you want to worry about at the end of the business day is items jamming.

NCR

NCR has a strong reputation for combining unmatched industry experience with a dedication to cutting-edge technology. NCR products routinely define new performance standards while offering effective solutions for a variety of customer needs. When only the best will do, an NCR item processing transport is the obvious choice.

The new iTRAN 180e and 300e transports are multipurpose transports that can be configured for a wide variety of item-processing applications. There are two models to choose from, the iTRAN 180e, rated at 180 documents per minute (dpm) and the iTRAN 300e, rated at 300 dpm. Each model offers maximum flexibility, efficiency, and reliability designed for the full range of low- to mid-volume processing situations. Both transports combine inspired innovation with technology perfected through decades of development—including the industry-leading NCR 7780 and iTRAN 8000.

The iTRAN 180e and 300e offer capabilities for MICR, dual MICR, OCR, and MICR/OCR combinations. A standard single-line, dual-font (E13B or CMC7) MICR reader can be configured for best-read character recognition based on customer applications, and an optional dual-line MICR reader enables automatic reject repair and verification. An OCR reader can be added with software ensuring optimal accuracy through full gray-scale scanning of images with up to three lines of characters in 10 different fonts.

The latest optics and electronics allow the iTRAN 180e and 300e to reduce operator intervention, expedite processing, and create useful archives of image items. A single camera captures images in one pass, using black-and-white (CCITT, 200 dpi) and grayscale compression formats (JPEG, 100 or 200 dpi) at full track speed. Image quality in both formats is superb, and resolution and file size can be optimized for each application. The Image Lift module is available with front-only or front-and-rear imaging, OCR software, and a red filter to block signatures and backgrounds. The LED illumination lamp reduces heat and noise and does not require replacing.

Image capture can occur upstream during reading, downstream after encoding and endorsing, or both. Upstream capture enables real-time recognition processing (CAR/OCR), while fully processed items can be archived via downstream capture.

The iTRAN 180e and 300e can be equipped with a Low-Speed Encoder, which can encode 100 documents per minute, printing up to 45 characters per document. This lower-cost, low-noise option is perfect for applications that depend on operator oversight or areas where excess noise can be problematic.

A High-Speed Encoder, available with the iTRAN 300e only, can handle especially heavy workloads, imprinting up to 300 documents per minute with built-in sensors to detect jams and damaged documents. For applications that do not include encoding, such as reader/sorter processing, you can order a stager instead of the encoder.

Choose from Low-or High-Speed Endorsers, each featuring standard rear printing. The Low-Speed module processes up to 230 dpm with two dot-matrix endorsement lines; the quieter High-Speed Endorser (iTRAN 300e only) can handle 300 dpm with four lines of endorsement by ink jet and includes the option for front endorsing. Logo and bank stamp endorsing are also available, either via rotary stamp or software-configured printing. A Downstream Roll-On Endorser can be added to the iTRAN 300e for further one-or two-sided imprinting.

Canon

The Canon CR-180 is a compact Check Transport device that scans both sides of 180 checks per minute, and has ability to read the MICR (Magnetic Ink Character Recognition) characters on checks using its built-in magnetic head. Along with Canon's industry-wide reputation in document feeding performance and image quality, the CR-180 is one of the fastest devices in its class.

Accommodating scanned documents up to 4.6 inches (118mm) wide by 9.1 inches (230mm) long, the CR-180 delivers outstanding performance and functionality to financial institutions, check processing centers, and retail outlets.

Teller Scan

The TellerScan 400ES is a two-sided countertop check scanner designed for Branch, Remote and Distributed Capture applications. The unit easily fits into any countertop or teller window area.

TellerScan 400ES check scanner offers a unique combination of reliability, compactness, and low cost for high speed scanning of a broad range of checks, cheques, giros and other small financial documents. These scanners can accelerate check clearance, improve customer service, and prepare the bank for electronic check processing.

The scanner includes two sided, duplex check scanning and automatic E13-B or CMC-7 MICR codeline recognition as standard features. The transport can move up to 90 items per minute at 100, 200x100 or 200 dots per inch black and white and 16 or 256 levels of gray in standard Group IV Tiff, JPEG or BMP format. The 80 - 100 item automatic document feeder along with the 2 pocket sorter, with enhanced pocket capacity, allows for unattended operation.
